SCDO joined KAACR in the celebration of the She leads program closure at tononoka social hall durig the month of september, the she leads program was inscharge of supporting girls and young women in the society and realized severall success including, forming a movemnt that led to a rise of various CBO’s led by young girls as well as funding other CBOs to facilitate for the rights of girls and young women with SCDO being a beneficiary under the Msichana elimika project.
CRVPF stakeholders meeting
SCDO together with KAACR and candle light hedl a stakeholders meeting that focused on assessing the progress of the project, the parents group beeing the most successffull with numerous success stories from the parents sessions to the vsla, the teachers sessions and the youths session were on course and the young mothers were to begin their sessions, other stakeholdres appreciated the work being done by the cluster in addressing violence againts children in the five villages and asked for the same to be extended to other villages.
Tononoka children support
SCDO in september supported the tononoka childrens court with cartons of water and milk to ensure the well being of the children attending the court cases, two staff from SCDO handed the donation to the court admin and one other court staff on behalf of the court.
Mangrove Restoration
Strategic community development organization in conjuction with Kenya forest service and state department for tourism conducted a one day mangrove planting at Junda, involving the community in restoring mangroves, SCDO facilitated the planting of 13,000 mangrove seedlings in the first section of the 15ha of land that SCDO adopted from KFS.
Stake holders meeting 2 tumaini mpya
The second stakeholders held on June 2025 under the Tumaini mpya-Jasiri project, focused on success stories from gbv particicpants who have benefited from the project, the stakeholders had an oppoortunity to raise what can be done to better imporve tha project
Young mothers mentorship
SCDO in partnership with Stretchers youth Organization, concucted a two day training in the month of july involving young and teen meothers the discussion was around mental well being, the young mothers were made aware of stigma due to early pregnancy is real, and ways on how to address, contoroll and aprocah the same was shared, with the organization offering free support to young mothers, including counselling sessions.
Partnership with KCB Foundation
SCDO hosted three staff from the KCB foundation group at the SCDO’s office where discussions around how collaboration between the two organizations were discussed, with areas involving capacity building of the community members on financial literacy and supporting the community members while adressing GBV and poverty being the main topics of discussion.
Tononoka childern support
SCDO donated 30 chairs to tononoka childrens court to support the children with a better sitting chairs during the case proceedings, two staff officers from SCDO represented the organization in handing of the chairs to the magistrate incharge honourable nelly.
