About Us

The Strategic Community Development Organization (SCDO) was established on April 11th 2015, this group is registered with the Kenyan Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Services in September 2015. The organization works with the community, its leadership, and county and national government officials in our area of work

A society that protects the rights of Women. Youth and Children

Mission

To create a community where Women, Youth and Children are self-reliant, resilient, socially, and economically empowered, promote and protect the rights and well being of Women and Youth who possess 21st century skills enabling them to create opportunities and diverse ways of accelerating attainment of the sustainable development goals

Objectives

1. To improve community involvement and responsiveness in Child right and child protection issues.
2. To increase youth employ-ability by mentoring them to boost their career pathways and steer them to the right career based on their skills and also promoting collaborative learning in the community.
3. To enhance leadership and governance through increased women and youth participation in vetting of leaders.
4. To enhance strategic partnership and networking with like-minded organizations in matters regarding child protection and women empowerment..

Our Work Philosophy and approach

Strategic Community Development works in partnership with organizations and individuals who have the best interest of children youth and women in the community. Organizations advocating for their interests at all levels, support research and Studies. We use the Asset Based Community-led Development (ABCD) Approach and the Community participatory model to work with the community. The GAP was identified when the community members complained about big organizations that come in bring projects for them without involving them in the planning process nor seeking their opinion on the kind of development, they most need in the community.
